Not knowing a language should not hold you back from studying abroad. Nor should it mean you can only study in an English-speaking country. It IS possible to study abroad in a country even if you have no prior knowledge of the country's language or cultural norms.
You may not have access to learn some languages (e.g., Czech, Danish, Dutch, Hungarian, Swedish, etc.) prior to studying abroad, but programs in these locations offer a variety of content courses taught in English. Students who have returned from study abroad in Greece and the Netherlands will share their experiences, including expectations vs. reality and tips for learning more about the culture. Jonathan Key, Director of CIEE programs in the Netherlands, will provide insight into the academics, programming and supports services for students participating in programs where they don't speak the local language.
